Most excellent dining experience... ambiance is wonderful, the food stupendous, along with service! Highly recommended!
MoreMy favorite restaurant in Michigan. Stop here any time you can. Everything on the menu is top notch, service is outstanding and consistent. You fit in well dining in a suit and just as well sipping a cocktail in shorts and t-shirt. The White Horse is the mark that all restaurants should be measured by.
MoreSecond time there. Wife loved the salmon. My chicken pot pie was okay but was sadly lacking in any meaningful flavor. Others dishes also fell into the good-but-not-great category. Service was fantastic. So were the desserts - creme brulees and bread pudding. The lackluster pot pie will not stop us from returning to try something else.
MoreGreat restaurant right across the street from where Bob Milne's ragtime retreat was being held. My favorite place to eat, of all the places we visited while in Michigan. Thank you!
MoreWe went there today with our church group of about 23 people. The waitstaff was awesome. Food was excellent. The restaurant was clean, bathroom was very clean. Loved the faucet and hand dryer all in one. It was shaped like an airplane, the nose was where the water came out and the wings dried your hands.
MoreWhat a great place. This was our 1st time coming here and we will definitely be coming back. Food was awsome, server Melisa was great as well. We will definitely be bringing our friends out with us. Thanks!
MoreLove this place! Atmosphere and food are amazing! Patio is enjoyable and the staff is courteous. Always had a great meal and the drinks are delicious. Have gone back a few times and enjoyed each and every visit.
MoreWonderful food. Beautiful atmosphere. Slightly high prices, but big portions so it evens out. Get the creme brulee! Crabcakes are really good too. If you have a group, rent an igloo and eat outside in winter. Super cool! Definitely worth the drive.
MoreThis is our favorite place to go for dinner. Even though we live in Rochester where there a so many options we prefer the laid back relaxing environment at the WhiteHorse. I would love to see a few changes in the menu. I think there is room for improvement. I order the same thing all the time because when I try something different it usually is not great. I think the fish tacos are a great example. How about some grilled Mahi fish tacos instead of basically fish sticks in a shell. I took the time to write the review because we LOVE coming just would like a few more options including maybe Gluten Free dishes so we could bring some people who require that.
MoreWe had our family Christmas dinner here. Not one complaint from the whole family. Everything was exceptional.
MoreThe staff is friendly, the food is always fresh and hot. Get the cookies for dessert 🍪🍪🍪 they are delightful. The manager is walking around and making sure everything is going smooth. 5⭐
MoreWe've always had great service here! However, Holly was our server this time and she was so incredible and fun! We always want Holly to wait on us from this moment on?! The food was delicious and amazing as always!!
MoreThe food was excellent! Prices aren't overly expensive for a finer dining experience. The restuarant has a quaint homey feel to it.
MoreVery nice. Excellent food and service. Plus you get tons of food
Recently had dinner with some friends and the service was terrific and the Walleye was amazing along with there Sangria. Very beautiful place with very neat History. I would highly recommend you pay them a visit, you won’t be sorry.
MoreThe place is beautiful, no doubt about it. I had dinner here with friends after hearing the food had improved since the last time I had been there. The bad - I'm sorry to say, it has not improved much. The best thing about our meal was the drinks and the mashed potatoes. The waitress we had was also disappointing. She seemed like she was constantly rushing us to leave (not sure why, it wasn't busy). The food and hospitality just was not what I would have liked for a bill close to $200.00. The good - Of our dessert choices, the bread pudding was on point. My take away - Enjoy drinks and dessert while taking in the beauty. Otherwise, the meal isn't worth the price in my own opinion.
MoreAwesome crazy delish!!!! Great service (ask for Mellisa she will take care of you😄) worth the drive from Detroit. Had Lemon Chicken Artichoke and dint need a knife and Pot Roast and hands down delicious.
MoreI had an excellent experience at this restaurant for a holiday party with a group of about 30 coworkers. The restaurant itself had fantastic decor and around Christmas it looks great. Drinks were good and the food was great! I highly recommend the ribeye with brussel sprouts which is what I had. Friendly staff.
MoreAmazing food, wonderful service, great price!
Great place. I was here 35 yrs ago.The current owner has done a amazing job! This restaurant is incredible. Great food, awesome ambiance, great staff
MoreIt was my husband's birthday. The staff were all very accommodating. They kept checking to see if we needed anything. I called and made reservations and mentioned it was my husband's birthday. I didn't even have to remind them. Your staff took care of my husband and me as well. Great job!!!
MoreReally enjoyed the food. The wait staff was courteous and knowledgeable of the food.
MoreThis place simply knows how to please their customers. Consistently with a very friendly mindset. The food is conveniently priced, regularly delicious and clean.
MoreGood food great service friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
Had lunch in the igloo...that was fun the family enjoyed a great deal..food is hot or miss. I had the chicken pot pie..not very special, very little filling of chicken ,carrots and peas. Not even a pie crust, just a hard cracker topping. Others enjoyed the buffalo meat loaf. My wife enjoyed her salmon, kind of surprised they didn't include salad with the salmon dinner or the chicken pot pie...that was not really a pie.
MoreBeen wanting to dine here for years and finally did. Great setting, historic building, tastefully decorated, and very cozy. Extensive menu, great service, awesome food reasonably priced. Can't wait to return!
MoreAbsolutely stupendous! Charming building full of super cool details.Food is delicious and very unique. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely be back!
MoreThe place sure is different from what it used to be. I guess it's better. More upscale. Pretty popular with the equestrian crowd, but I'm only a horse-husband. Can't say I was ever disappointed going there.
MoreGreat atmosphere, great service. The rib-eye steak and plum salmon were awesome! Prices are ok, considering the good experience.
MoreFood was great! The experience was better. The igloos are a great way to make a memorable dining experience!
MoreHidden Jewel. Great food friendly service. Seating outdoors or inside. Cute small walking downtown area.
MoreIt was good, but pricy for what you got .
I have heard many great things about the White Horse inn...it did not disappoint. I could not stop taking in the beauty of the place! It is gorgeous! I had lamb cheeks with homemade gnocchi and snap peas. It was so delicious! Probably the most crispy peas I've ever eaten. They were perfect. My husband had the Hungarian goloush which he also really enjoyed. We will definitely be back
MoreWe were disappointed and expected it to be good considering the prices... Drinks were overpriced and weak not to mention wrong drink order. Prime rib was very under cooked, soup was ok, chicken pot pie was bland.
MoreGreat food and excellent service.
Took my wife here for her B-day dinner. She is very picky when it comes to food.I must say she couldn't find a thing to complain about.Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Our server was Bianka and she was great. Large portions at a fair price. Will be returning for sure.
MoreWent there for Granddaughter's Birthday, haven't been there for years, The atmosphere is amazing, the food so delicious, we had the Beer battered bread and pickles OHMYGOSH,,,!We waited a while for a table, but when we got settled, our food came in record time, servers are excellent, very quick, very cordial. I would give more stars if that were an option. We will be coming back for my birthday in March. Thank you 😊
MoreThe best meal I have had in a long time
Had the pulled pork on an onion bun for lunch. It came with homemade potato chips and a pickle. Very tasty but would use a different bun. I had to cut my sandwich up to eat it since the bottom bun was so soggy. My husband had the blackened chicken Caesar wrap. It was quite big! It too came with homemade potato chips and pickle. He said it was very good but he didn’t care much for the chips. He said next time he’s ordering the fries. We ate out on the patio. We sat very close to the main road which surprisingly for a small town is pretty busy. So because of this it was hard to hear other talk because of noisy vehicles going at stop light. They social distance everyone and there are a lot of tables spread beyond the patio even. The bathrooms were clean and it looks to me like the touch less faucets and blowers were put in since the pandemic. All in all we will definitely be returning to this restaurant!
MoreKelly and her fantastic staff allowed us to use this beautiful facility for an intimate gathering for a wedding ceremony. Following the ceremony, our family and friends enjoyed a fantastic lunch. Our wait staff was extremely attentive. I can’t say enough about how wonderful of an experience we had. Every little detail was above and beyond our expectations, making our special day carefree and perfect!
MoreGreat history behind this restaurant.. more Jan meets the eye. Wood work is beautiful. Server was attentive and informative. Food was great. Average and simple but delicious. We ordered the salmon and BBQ ribs. Sparkling wine on tap was semi dry and simple.
MoreAttended an event last night with a very large party where everyone ordered off the menu. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, the service was great, the meals came out quickly and the food was delicious. The beautiful decor added to the experience.
MoreWhat a cozy place with such an interesting story! The prime sandwich was amazing, and the service was great. Can't wait to go back again sometime!
MoreDefinitely a place worth trying, the food is fantastic and well prepared, the pricing is affordable and it is consistently well organized in here. Kudos.
MoreI like to go with friends to this place with my highest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The the food there is yummy and the stuff is efficient and cooperative. always when we eat in this place we enjoy a delightful time. I recommend this place with pleasure.
MoreHad a Great Experience, Staff was friendly and polite. Service was timely and the food was served very appropriately. The entree we ordered was Wonderful ! Try the Farmhouse Pasta dish the next time., if you have already. I Best Raspberry Ice Tea Ever. Will be going back for sure !!
MoreMy wife and I visited the White Horse Inn on a busy Friday night for a birthday party. Our group was rather large (30). There were several other large parties that night too. The service was great. They had two servers working our half of the table. For an appetizer, we had the crab cakes and they were delicious. For our meal I had the walleye and my wife had the prime rib. Both meals we excellent. Everyone on our end of the table was very happy with the service and the meals. I wish we lived closer as we would definitely be back.
MoreThe place is good the food is not the best. I had the salmon it was dry. My son had the filet it was amazing ,flavor, perfectly cooked. I would say perfect place for a family gathering. The service was the best. Fireplace is really spectacular. The prices are a little hugh.
MoreBeautifully remodeled and decorated. This is one of the higher end restaurants in the area so prices may seem higher than one is used to but the food is good and it makes for a romantic night out as a couple. Make sure to check out the mural on the wall painted by a french artist and be sure to wander upstairs and peek down at the specially laid wood floor
MoreLoved this place. First, the building was very scenic and historic being built in the late 1800s as a hotel and restaurant. It was renovated in 2014 and some of the old building was saved. Very cool. Shout out to Craig for the cool ghost stories about the original family seen haunting the restaurant regularly. Second, the food was fantastic. Great menu and great drink choices for a restaurant in a quaint town. Also visit the White Horse Inn general store across the street when you're done eating.
